Rana KP Singh demands to hand over VHP leader murder case investigation to NIA
Bahadurjeet Singh/Nangal,April 18,2024
Senior Congress leader and former Punjab Speaker Rana KP Singh has demanded to hand over the investigation of target killing of Vishav Hindu Parishad leader Vikas Bagga to National Investigation Agency due to involvement of foreign based terrorists.
Rana who reached the residence of Bagga at Nangal to offer his condolences said that the state police was not capable to conduct such investigations.
Bagga was shot dead in Nangal on April 13 and the police arresting two residents of Saloh village in Nawan Shahr district had claimed that he was killed by a terror module, operated and funded by foreign-based handlers operating from Portugal and other places including Pakistan.
Rana said that with the investigation conducted by Punjab police it was obvious that miscreants sitting abroad were attempting to foment communal animosity in the state. Hardly two weeks ago a former Khalistani terrorist who had already served his sentence was shot dead in neighbouring area of Balachaur which indicated that there was big conspiracy to disturb communal harmony in the state, he added.
Such cases are handled by the central agencies in better way so it was imperative that the state government hand over the case to NIA or CBI, said the former Speaker.
