Registration begins in the Nawanshahr district under the Mukhya Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme: Deputy Commissioner

Registration has begun in the district regarding the Mukhya Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh while reviewing the Mukhya Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme with the district officials in his office. Improvement Trust chairman Satnam Singh Jalwaha was specially present in this meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh said that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is carrying out the registration work under the second phase of the Mukhya Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme. He said that the forms for taking the elderly on pilgrimages are being filled at the booth level. He said that the selection of the pilgrims going on the pilgrimage will be done in a completely transparent manner through a draw. He said that a medical team will also accompany the devotees during the yatra so that immediate assistance can be provided in case of any emergency. He said that devotees aged 50 years or above will be eligible for the yatra. Therefore, voter card will be mandatory for registration. He said that devotees will be selected through draw from each booth from each registered person.
During the meeting, Satnam Singh Jalwaha said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann has started the Mukhya Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme: for the elderly, for which a district coordinator has been appointed. He said that from today, the registration work has started in all three constituencies of the district and the bus will leave for the Mukhya Mantri Tirath Yatra on February 10.

He said that the Punjab government has made all kinds of preparations to facilitate the journey and all arrangements for food, medical facilities, accommodation etc. have been made for the convenience of the pilgrims during the journey. He said that on February 10, under the Mukhya Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme, the bus will leave for Amritsar where the pilgrims will be taken to places like Sri Darbar Sahib, Ram Tirath Mandir,Wagha Border, Jallianwala Bagh etc.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to coordinate with the concerned agency and ensure proper arrangements for the journey as per the schedule of the buses as per the instructions of the government. On this occasion, Doaba Incharge Tarun Arora, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Balbir Raj Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur were also present .
