Residents of Sangrur districts in particular and other areas of Punjab got shocked to see the page of Sangrur Police website-www.sangrurpolice.in as it looks like the Sangrur district police website is hacked as a factitious message is displayed on it.
Earlier, whenever anyone type Sangrur police on google, the Sangrur police website- www.sangrurpolice.in opened up. But now, a factitious message comes up whenever anybody types Sangrur Police on google, giving impression that it is hacked.
When contacted the SP (D) Sangrur Palwinder Singh Cheema he said “ no, it’s not hacked but shifted to a new domain.I’ll ask Amit, who looks after Sangrur police website, to contact you”
Later, Amit, who looks after the Sangrur police website called up and said “ the website is not hacked but shifted to a new address. When questioned than why this message is coming up on the old website and why new website is not opening up when typing Sangrur police on google, he has no answer. He further added that all the district police websites are changing to a new domain and Sangrur police has already shifted to new domain. But again when questioned why new website is not opening by typing Sangrur Police on google where as Rupnagar police new website is opening by just typing Rupnagar Police, he goes clueless.
“Sangrur police must display a new website name, link on the old website so that no visitor faces any problem. How public, residents can come to know that the police have changed the website address. In today’s time when a person needs any information, he/she just google and get the desired information. Moreover no massage is conveyed to anyone. Even media people don’t know about this change. ” said Gurpreet, a resident.
