Retired powercom engineer, a senior citizen falls prey to cyber crime

The cyber crimes are increasing day by day and on Friday V K Gupta, retired PSPCL engineer and Media Advisor All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF), aged 76 years, resident of Kurukshetra became the latest victim and he lost Rs. 45000 in the process within a few minutes.

On Friday morning around 9.30 in morning he found that suddenly Rs.5000 was being deducted from his HDFC bank account and the process continued till total deduction amount rose to RS.45000. The balance amount was saved after it was transferred to his daughter’s account.

He immediately rushed to the bank on the railway road and blocked his account temporarily. He lodged the complaint on a cyber crime phone.

Retired powercom engineer, a senior citizen falls prey to cyber crime. Earlier in the morning a person claiming to be employees of HSVP/HUDA asked for Rs.7 payment for cancelling his phone number listed with another person’s water bill payment bill and asked to open the PDF for depositing the amount.
