In a significant step toward enhancing modernized patient care services, Punjab’s Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. Balbir Singh, convened a meeting to discuss the comprehensive revamping of Mata Kaushalya Government Hospital. The meeting, held at Mata Kaushalya Hospital today, focused on accelerating the progress of upgrading health services not only in district hospitals but also in community health centers.
During the meeting, Dr. Balbir Singh emphasized the need for a concerted effort to transform the healthcare infrastructure in the region. He directed the officials to expedite the process of modernizing the hospital’s patient care facilities, including the OPD and Emergency sections, as well as the hospital’s facade, waiting area, help desk, parking facilities, and the implementation of solar panels for sustainable energy conservation, along with a new office for the civil surgeon of Patiala. The minister stressed the importance of upgrading the hospital’s amenities, such as the modular operation theatre, Trauma Theatre, Niku-Piku for new natal babies care, sewage system, and sanitation facilities, to provide the best healthcare experience to patients.
Acknowledging the unwavering commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Dr. Balbir Singh assured that funds would not be a constraint in the pursuit of upgrading the patient healthcare system in government hospitals. He revealed that the initial phase of this transformative endeavor would focus on four government hospitals: Patiala, Faridkot, Sangrur, and Dhuri. These hospitals are set to undergo a comprehensive facelift, including aesthetic enhancements and branding, to create an inviting and modernized patient-friendly environment.
Dr. Balbir Singh made an announcement during the meeting, stating that the new emergency section of Mata Kaushalya Hospital is set to be operational and dedicated to the residents of the Patiala district starting from 1st September. The revamped emergency section will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, modern medical equipment, and a proficient team of doctors and paramedics to ensure the highest quality of care.
The revamping of Mata Kaushalya Government Hospital represents a significant stride toward achieving accessible, advanced, and patient-centered healthcare services for the people of the Patiala district. Dr. Balbir Singh highlighted CM Bhagwant Mann’s visionary approach and determination, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering a healthier and more resilient community.
