Road Safety awareness can save many lives: Er Parminder Singh

Rotary Club Rupnagar observed January month for creating road safety & awareness, under Rotary International guidelines, namely TARA – Traffic Awareness – Rotary Awareness.
Under TARA Project, Rotary Club Rupnagar organized fifth & last traffic awareness and Road Safety Project today at local police lines crossing. In today’s project 350 reflectors got fixed at commercial vehicles passing thru Rupnagar, in association with Traffic Police Rupnagar. Apart from reflectors, 55 stickers having oath that I will not drive my vehicle under the influence of liquor also pasted inside the vehicles. Club also installed 50 more banners on the poles and other areas of the city, carrying messages related to road safety & traffic rules. President of Club Engineer Parminder Kumar, Director Community Services Engineer J K Bhatia & Club Secretary Advocate Ajay Talwar appreciated the efforts of traffic police & extends their thanks to the team present.
Chairman of TARA project Past President Dr JK Sharma told that club has organised five projects in the city in January month & installed more than 1000 reflectors apart from oath stickers. He also told that in coming days, their club will organise blood sugar & eye checkup camp for the driver community. On this occasion from Rotary Club past presidents Dr Usha Bhatia, Engineer JK Bhatia, Rotarian Inderpreet Singh, Sudhir Sharma, Kiran Ahluwalia & from traffic police Inspector Krishan Kumar with his team were present.
