Roads cleared for Punjabi university to accept donations; enlisted in tax rebate 80 G category

It comes as a good news for Punjabi University, Patiala that University has been included in the list of section 80-G of the I.T. Act by Income Tax Department, Government of India. With the University getting included in this list , the well wishers who wish to financially support the University, will get their donated money eligible for tax rebate.
While giving this information Vice -Chancellor Prof. B.S. Ghuman told that this will be certainly beneficial for the Punjabi University Patiala as this will further encourage all the wellwishers to come forward to help the University. He appealed all the well-wishers of the University settled in India and abroad to contribute to upliftment of financial condition of the University, which has been doing excellent historic work to promote Punjabi language, literature, art and culture. He said that we all know that besides promotion of Punjabi language, literature , art and culture, excellent work is being done in the University to impart a high level of education and research work.
He further said that very recently in June 2020, the University has secured 64th rank and got included in the first hundred universities of the country. Therefore we all should work together for the betterment of the university. He also hoped that the faculty, non-teaching employees, students, researchers and former students of the University who are working in various reputed positions all over the world are emotionally connected with the University.
Therefore those well-wishers who come forward to financially support the University, wil get tax rebate also on the donated amount.
Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Gurdeep Singh Batra told that University had written a letter regarding this to concerned department thus University got included in the list. Registrar Dr. Devinderpal Singh Sidhu and Finance Officer Dr. Rakesh Kumar Khurana told that University has been given written permission in this regard by the Income Tax Department. They said that those who want to contribute, can deposit the amount in the account of Registrar, Punjabi University, Patiala.
