Ropar girl cracks HCS (Judicial Branch) examination; secures top rank

Shweta Sharma, a girl from Ropar in Punjab has topped the Haryana Civil Services (Judicial Branch) examination, the results of which were declared on Tuesday by the Haryana Public Service Commission.She has also been selected for the Rajasthan Judicial Services.
Shweta secured 619.75 marks out of 1050 marks in her first attempt. Shivani Garg, of Ludhiana, bagged the second position, while Priya Gupta, of Karnal, stood third.
Shweta had studied upto matric level in local Shiwalik Public School and passed XI and XII classes from Dev Samaj School Sector 21 Chandigarh.She did her five year LLB from University Institute of Legal Studies(UILS),Panjab University Chandigarh and LLM from Army Institute of Law Mohali.
Shweta’s father Pawan Sharma is an SDO in Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant while her mother Priya Sharma is a housewife. Shweta, who has two siblings, gave credit to her parents and said it was their motivation that she could pass the examination. Her sister has also done LLM and is settled in Canada.

Shweta said that her parents motivated her to do pursue law course and immensely supported her at the time of exams.
Priya Sharma said that Shweta was first in the family to have become a judge and dream of her(Shweta’s) father come true.
