Rt. Kulwant Singh installed as president of Rotary Club Rupnagar

Noted Social activist of the area Rotarian Kulwant Singh got installed as 46th President of Prestigious Rotary Club of Rupnagar today. In a well-attended gathering at GS Estate, installation function of the President & his team for the Rotary Year 2024 – 25 was organized, in which Ex Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan sabha Rana KP Singh was the chief guest. Rotarian Ravi Parkash who is District Governor Elect of the Rotary District 3080 was the guest of honor.
Program was started with lightening of lamp as per traditions of the rotary. Immediate past president of Rotary club Rupnagr Dr Namrita Parmar presented the projects done in the last rotary year which was appreciated by the chief guest & all present. After the exchange of president’s collar as per rotary traditions, President Kulwant Singh presented report of the projects completed in the month of July & would be done in the current Rotary year.
The new president also introduced his team including Club Secretary Rotarian Arina Chanana, Vice President Narinder Bhola, Director Community Services Engineer Parminder Kumar, Director Vocational Services Dr JK Sharma, Director International Services Dr BPS Parmar, Director Youth Services Rotarian Gagan Saini, Director Club Services Advocate Ajay Talwar, Treasurer CA Jaswinderjit Singh, Sargent at arms Rotarian Pardeep Sharma & other members so far.
On this occasion, the incoming District Governor of Rotary District 3080 & Guest of Honor Rotarian Ravi Parkash appreciated the projects orgnised by Dr Namrita in her tenure. He also announced to the audience & nominated past President Advocate Gurprit Singh as Assistant Governor of this zone & Past President Narinder Bhola as Assistant Learning facilitator for the next Rotary year.
In his address, Chief Guest Rana KP Singh explained the world wide importance of Rotary, for being a member of any Rotary Club & wearing the lapel Pin of Rotary. He congrated & advised the new team for carrying out more & more projects for society with focus on safe drinking water & health checkups. Past District Governors Dr R S Parmar & Advocate Chetan Aggarwal also addressed the gathering, congratulated Dr Namrita & her team for their commendable work in the last year & extended their best wishes to the new president & his team.

At this occasion, three new members also got inducted as members of Rotary Club Roopnagar namely Dr Rajiv Aggarwal of Agarwal Hospital in Zail Singh Nagar, Dr Arti Verma, Medical Officer in the Civil Hospital Roopnagar & Dr Tejinder Kaur, An Academician & currently working as Assistant Professor with Khalsa College Shri Anandpur Sahib.
Chairman of the installation Function was Advocate Amar Raj Saini. Past President of RC Roopnagar Professor Prabhjit Singh organisedthe program as Master of the ceremony & Vote of thanks was extended by incoming president Rotarian Sudhir Sharma. Members of the nearby Rotary clubs like Ropar Central, Bhakhra Nangal, Anandpur Sahib, Chandigarh & Kharar also attended the function. President & members of the Roopnagar press club also participated in this event. President MC Roopnagar Shri Sanjay Verma, President bar Association Advocate Mandeep Moudgil, President Lions Club Roopnagar, President Naina Jiwan Jyoti Club Roopnagar & Majority of the club members were also present at this gala event & congratulated the new president & his team so far.
