Ruling party Punjab MLA in deep water, arrested by law enforcement agency on corruption charges

As per available information, the Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Punjab’s Bathinda Rural seat Amit Rattan Kotfatta has been arrested by the state vigilance burea in a bribery case on from outside Bathinda a top official said on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
The VB was under pressure as it was accused of shielding the MLA while arresting only his aide.The legislator’s arrest comes days after his alleged close aide Rashim Garg was nabbed by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in the same case.
It has been learnt Kotfatta was in Chandigarh on February 22 and was travelling towards Haryana early Thursday when he was nabbed by the Vigilance Bureau.However, the Punjab vigilance Bureau is yet to issue a statement on this latest development of bribery case.
