Rupnagar DC directs PWD to submit a weekly progress report of the new bus stand

With the aim of providing public transport related services to the city residents, Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Friday reviewed the construction work of the new bus stand at bypass road Rupnagar where he directed the officials of Public Works Department (PWD) to submit a weekly progress report to him on every Monday.
On this occasion, he took a detailed description of the works done so far from the officials and instructed that the work of the bus stand should be completed in a standard manner as per the rules.
Deputy Commissioner said that 21 buses will be parked at the counter of the new bus stand and space has also been set up to park 20 buses in the parking lot. Along with this, parking for about 60 cars and about 100 motorcycles has been made in the basement for the convenience of people.
Himanshu Jain said that the administrative block of Punjab Roadways will be shifted at this bus stand and there will be dormitory hall for drivers, including 2 lifts and shops canteen.
He said that due to the non-service of the bus stand at Rupnagar, the common people are facing a lot of difficulties. In view of these conditions, the officials of the public works department are strictly directed to ensure that every work related to the bus stand will be completed within the stipulated time.

He said that on the completion of the new bus stand, the residents of Rupnagar city, people of other districts of the state and citizens of Himachal Pradesh will definitely get the modern facilities while using the transportation.
