Rupnagar DC encourages Industrialists to get benefit of NAPS by providing apprenticeship to ITI students

Industrialists will get hassle-free benefit of National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) by providing apprenticeship to ITI students at their real-time workstations. These views were expressed by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Preeti Yadav in Apprenticeship Awareness Workshop held at Bhratgarh Sarai, Rupnagar.
While presiding over the workshop under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, She said that to fulfil increasing demand for skilled craftsmen, industries should come forward to locate their actual requirement of trainees. There is no need to worry to share exact data as Punjab Government is committed to facilitate all services at your doorsteps.
Highlighting the features of NAPS, She said that this scheme was introduced by MSDE in August 2016. Scheme added a component of Government Share in stipend paid to apprentice by employer. Apprenticeship Awareness Workshop has been organised to provide modernised and advanced practical training to ITI students in industries.
One such initiative is being launched in GOVT ITI, Rupnagar with the signing of MoU with CLAAS INDIA Pvt LTD for strengthening and up gradation of Government ITI Rupnagar adding that she said this will help trainees of ITI, Rupnagar in sharpening of skills, promote self-entrepreneurship and will also enhance the opportunities of better employability.
In the beginning of workshop, Principal/AAA, Govt. Industrial Training Institute, Rupnagar Parvinder Singh Sidhu briefed about the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). Swati Sethi, Regional Director of Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Punjab & Haryana honoured the Chief Guest with souvenir and shawl she also presented souvenir to M.S. Ramta, Executive Director, SML Isuzu Limited, Rupnagar, Atul Jain, Executive Director, National Fertilizer Limited Nangal & Subhanshu Tiwari, Executive Director, NIELIT, Rupnagar and thanked all for joining the workshop.
Swati Sethi, Regional Director said that this Directorate is trying to promote Skill and Industrialists who have an important role to make the successful “Skill India Abhiyan”. She said that industrialists may take the benefits of this scheme and make the future bright of youths by providing them with practical training. She invited the Industrialists to fulfil the demands of the international market as well as the Indian market, Apprenticeship scheme will be very helpful to achieve the target.

During the Apprenticeship workshop, Deputy Director Dr. Pramendra Tilanthe and Shivi Joshi, Training Officer, RDSDE, Punjab highlighted various aspects of apprenticeship scheme. At the end of this workshop Subhash Chandra, Joint Director/Head of Office, RDSDE, Punjab also highlighted the importance of this scheme and expressed satisfaction with the efforts being made by Industry and RDSDE, Punjab. He also thanked all the representatives of the Industries, Govt. departments and non-govt. Organisations and he encouraged all Industrial units, govt. and non-govt organisations for the registration of trainees on the National Apprenticeship portal of GoI.
