Rupnagar DC reviews various innovative & agricultural services being provided by KVK

In a significant move to bolster agricultural development and support local farmers, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Monday visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ropar.
On this occasion, Jain reviewed various innovative and agricultural services being provided by KVK, including laboratories, and demonstration units at KVK office premises and farm. He also analysed PAU and KVK publications, which is pivotal for sustainable farming practices.
Additionally, he evaluated the promotion of oil seeds, millets and pulses in technology park highlighting their potential to improve crop diversity and soil health. The visit also included a comprehensive discussion on agroforestry, horticulture and livestock units.
Mr. Jain inquisitively enquired about the poplar cultivation, nutrition garden, bee keeping, breeds of livestock, importance of non-conventional feed resources like Azolla and silage for livestock nutrition, which could play a vital role in enhancing the livelihood of local farmers.
On this occasion Dr. Satbir Singh, Deputy Director (Training) KVK Ropar and other senior officers were also present.
