Rupnagar DC visits Material Recovery Facility

Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner Dr Preeti Yaday visited. Material Recovery Facility(MRF) during the checking of door to door source segregation under solid waste management in Rupnagar town on Tuesday.
On this occasion, Dr. Preeti Yadav instructed the municipal council officials to replace plastic containers with iron containers at MRF. She also inspected the composite pits. After which she visited the dumping site of the Municipal Council and inspected the remediation of Legacy Waste on the spot and also directed the officials to identify the vacant adjoining area so that a boundary wall, SLF and CCTV cameras can be installed at the dumping site.
On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Sona Thind appealed to the people of the town to segregate the wet / dry garbage of their houses and give it to of Rehri pullers for its disposal and not to throw garbage in the open. The use of plastic bags should be avoided as it helps in keeping the city clean and also helps in preserving the environment.
The additional deputy commissioner said that the people should extend their full support to the Municipal Council in making Rupnagar district clean so that we can succeed in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Rupnagar Municipal Council executive officer r Bhajan Chand,, Sanitary inspector Satnam Singh and . Pankaj Kumar were also present on the occasion.
