Rupnagar police committed to ensure free and fair elections-SSP

Rupnagar Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Vivek S. Soni said that Rupnagar district Police were fully committed to conduct the Punjab assembly elections in a free and fair and transparent manner in the district.
While talking to media persons Rupnagar Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Vivek Sheel Soni said that to implement this commitment, the district had got two paramilitary force CISF companies comprising 2 DSPs, 2 Inspectors, 3 Sub-Inspectors, 3 ASIs, 30 head constables and 142 constables.
He said that this para-military force had been deployed at inter-state check points along the border of District Rupnagar such as Ajoli Maur, Kalseda, Bhibor Sahib, near MP Kothi Nangal, Rampur Jhajjar near Bhuri Wala dera, T-Point Dehni and Dabora Morr in three shifts on 24-hour duty to check every person/vehicle entering the area from the inter-state border within the district Rupnagar.
He said that CCTV cameras were also being installed on Interstate check posts which wouldl be monitored effectively. Apart from this, checking was also being carried out from time to time at vulnerable points, red alert and city ceiling points. Patrolling and flag marches are also being taken out in the markets and bazaars.
Apart from above, Rupnagar Police has also deputed approx 150 police personnel comprising 3 SPs, 8 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 40 NGOs, 30 Head Constables and 60 Constables in flying squads, nakabandi and highway patrolling, SSP added.
