Ryan Patiala’s Young Authors Shine at BriBooks Summer Book Writing Festival 2025

Jagjot Singh (Grade VII) of Ryan International School Patiala, an emerging young storyteller from Punjab, has been honoured with the Jury Choice Award (Rank 1) at the prestigious BriBooks Summer Book Writing Festival 2025 for his captivating adventure tale, “Secrets Discovered by Pirates.” The book follows the thrilling journey of Captain Benny — a kind-hearted pirate who discovers a mysterious map leading to hidden treasure. Accompanied by his spirited crew and a talkative parrot named Polly, Benny braves wild seas and storms in a quest filled with courage, friendship, and discovery.
The festival jury praised Jagjot’s work for its “energy and classic pirate charm,” calling the story “a delightful mix of suspense and adventure that feels ready for a grand sequel.” Jagjot expressed heartfelt gratitude to his school for nurturing his creativity: “My school always motivates us to try new creative activities. My Principal, Pooja Sharma and teachers encouraged me to express my imagination through writing, and that gave me the confidence to participate in the BriBooks festival.” Sharing his favourite part of the experience, Jagjot added: “The most exciting part was bringing my characters to life and seeing my ideas turn into a real story. It felt amazing to imagine new worlds and adventures.”
Adding to the school’s pride, Gurneet Kaur (Grade VI) also brought laurels by earning the Published Author Certificate for her book “The Egypt of 2 Ms.” Her accomplishment highlights her creativity and dedication to storytelling. Gurneet was also recognized with the BriBooks Silver Star Medallion, celebrating her success as a published author at such a young age.
BriBooks’ Summer Book Writing Festival is one of India’s largest creative writing events, encouraging young minds to publish their stories and share their imagination with the world.
Sharing the information, Principal, Pooja Sharma, lauded the students for Competing among thousands of entries from across the country. Both Jagjot’s imaginative storytelling and Gurneet’s literary achievement reflect the incredible creative potential of young writers from Punjab.
