On the holy occasion of Maghi Mela held at Sri Muktsar Sahib dedicated to 40 ‘Muktas’, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayats. Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa has paid obeisance at Gurudwara Sri Tutti Gandhi Sahib and Gurudwara Saheedan Sahib. On the occasion, Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab and MLA Gidderbaha Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and Former MLA Karan Kaur Brar were also present.

On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Bajwa said that on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh, he has got great chance to visit Sri Muktsar Sahib on such holy occasion and has paid an obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib as a humble Sikh. While responding to media persons, Bajwa said that by holding political conferences on holy occasions, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is violating the edict of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and hurting the sentiments of devotees.

Responding to another question, the Cabinet Minister said that the MOUs signed by former SAD-BJP government are the actual reason behind the hike of power rates. On the question regarding Citizenship Amendment Act, Bajwa said that as per constitution no one can discriminate people on the basis of religion. Centre government has passed this bill by trampling the feelings of citizens, he added.

Meanwhile, Bajwa inaugurated the Robotic Machine project at Akal Academy School for cleaning sewage manholes. He lauded the project, which is initiated under the ‘Mera Muktsar Mera Maan’ mission by the district administration under the directives of Punjab Government. Bajwa said that this technique would bring a new revolution in the work of cleaning the sewerage. The Department of Water Supply and Sanitation has currently purchased two machines at a cost of Rs. 90 lakh including five years of maintenance. Sri Muktsar Sahib is a leading district to initiate this robotic project. After the success of pilot project in this district, government would be implemented this in other districts, he added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner M K Arvind Kumar IAS and SSP Rajbachan Singh Sandhu welcomed the Cabinet Minister. On this occasion, ADC (G) Sandeep Kumar, ADC (D) H S Sra, Senior leader Narinder Singh Kauni, SDM Gopal Singh, Om Prakash, Mrs. Virpal Kaur, District Congress President Harcharan Singh Brar, Chairman, District Planning Board Subash Chandra, Gursant Singh, Simranjit Singh Bheena Brar, Gurdas Giridhar, Executive Engineer P S Dhanju were also present.
