Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna-Ramvati of Sirhind got free knee replacement at Govt Hospital

With an objective of providing better health care facilities to the poor and needy in the state, the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna started by Punjab Government is proving very beneficial. Under this scheme, 3057 beneficiaries got free treatment worth Rs. 01 crore 84 lac 07 thousand 500 at various reputed hospitals. The beneficiaries registered under the scheme could get free treatment in govt. health institutions of the district and in various reputed govt. and empanelled hospitals. Stating this Deputy Commissioner Smt. Amrit Kaur Gill, said that 1 lac 4 thousand 415 families of the district will be covered under the scheme and 1 lac 21 thousand 984 beneficiaries obtained smart cards under the scheme.

Deputy Commissioner said that besides common service centres, Smart cards are being prepared at govt. health centres and empanelled private hospitals. She said that a nominal fee of rs. 30 is being charged for obtain the smart card. She said that under the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna, treatment costing up to Rs. 05 lac is being done for free. Smt Gill said that under the Sarbat sehat Bima Yojna, 1130 eligible beneficiaries got treatment worth Rs. 59 lac 40 thousand in the various health care institutions. Similarly 1927 eligible beneficiaries got free treatment worth Rs. 01 crore 24 lac 67 thousand 500 in various empanelled private hospitals.

Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna-Ramvati of Sirhind got free knee replacement at Govt Hospital

Ramvati of Sirhind Mandi got knee replacement for which she was suffering from long. During a special interaction she said that she did not get any proper treatment of her knees and she was reluctant to walk. She said that after launching of Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna, she got smart card under the scheme and approached District Hospital Fatehgarh Sahib. At here she got knee replacement successfully and is now able to walk again. According to Ramvati, she got his one knee replaced and soon will also got replace the second one. She said that the scheme started by Punjab Government is very beneficial for the poor and needy as she was unable to get treatment without the scheme. Due to the scheme, she got improved her life after knee replacement. She heartedly thanked the Punjab Government for launching of the scheme.
