Scholar Fields Public School, Patiala, recently hosted the highly anticipated SMUN 3.0 (Scholar Model United Nations), an event renowned for its intellectual rigor and vibrant diplomatic discourse.
The atmosphere was charged with the enthusiasm of young minds eager to engage in global discussions. The event was graced by the esteemed Justice Gurbir Singh from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, whose compelling address on the evolution from the “bullet to the ballot” illustrated how the ideas of ordinary citizens can spark monumental change. He encouraged students to remain steadfast in their resolve, leaving an unforgettable impression on all present.
The presence of distinguished guests, including IG Balkar Singh and DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu, IPS, further enhanced the event’s prestige.
In appreciation of their valuable contributions, they were presented with mementos as heartfelt tokens of gratitude.
The inauguration on the first day featured an inspiring address by SSP Dr. Nanak Singh, IPS, who emphasized that patience and diligence can yield the greatest rewards. The day commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and a warm floral welcome for the esteemed guests. Cultural performances—including a melodious welcome song, a graceful classical dance, and an exuberant Bhangra—filled the air with vibrancy, setting an exciting tone for the proceedings.
Principal Chandandeep Kaur delivered an engaging speech that motivated students to embrace challenges with enthusiasm and perseverance. Seven committees were formed, each with a designated executive board, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the event. Secretary General Simrandeep Kaur officially declared SMUN 3.0 open, delivering an inspiring address that ignited the spirit of leadership and collaboration.
On the second day, Justice Gurbir Singh returned, accompanied by Arvinder Kaur, both of whom were honored with tokens of appreciation for their invaluable guidance. The cultural program continued to elevate the ambiance, featuring another captivating classical dance, a dynamic Bhangra, and a creatively choreographed performance that highlighted the dual impact of technology as both a blessing and a potential challenge.
Awards were presented to the winners of the seven committees, with the best delegate announced and three lucky winners among the delegates chosen at the conclusion of the function.
Executive Director Akshant Singla and Chief Advisor Drishti addressed the gathering, offering profound insights that provided valuable guidance to the participants. Their remarks encouraged critical thinking and thoughtful engagement with global issues. As the event drew to a close, Simrandeep Kaur delivered the final speech, officially concluding SMUN 3.0 and marking the end of a truly remarkable and enlightening experience.
