SGPC president honoured at Khalsa college Patiala; laid foundation stone of college sports complex

SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur was honoured at Khalsa College Patiala today for being elected President, SGPC, Sri Amritsar Sahib for fourth time. The program began with Kirtan and and the congregation recited Shabads, making the whole atmosphere auspicious. College Principal Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha welcomed Bibi Jagir Kaur as Guest of Honour. He also welcomed Former SGPC President, Professor Kirpal Singh Badungar, Honorary Secretary, College Governing Body, Surjit Singh Rakhra, Director Education, SGPC, Dr. Tender Kaur Dhaliwal and other eminent personalities. Bibi Jagir Kaur addressed the audience and congratulated the college over efficient leadership and reaching new heights. She said that SGPC is a guiding institution that always encourages such educational institutions to grow further. SGPC has always helped people at the time of disaster with the aid of Langar, Tents, Medical facilities and other facilities. She congratulated Principal Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha for taking the institution to a new level of excellence. She laid emphasis on the importance of sports and providing facilities to sports students. She laid foundation stone of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Sports Complex of the college.
Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar also addressed the audience and congratulated the college on this special occasion. He gave emphasis on the importance and role of women in society. He said that the role of a leader is of prime importance in the success of an institution. When an efficient leader is supported by efficient staff members then an institution always rises to great heights.
Surjit Singh Rakhra congratulated the college over the special occasion of honouring Bibi Jagir Kaur . He said in his speech that SGPC is always working tirelessly for the welfare of humanity. He thanked Bibi Jagir Kaur for guiding the college in all aspects.
College Principal Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha presented vote of thanks. He highlighted the achievements of Khalsa College Patiala where about 6200 students are studying. It is one of the prime institutions accredited with NAAC A grade, Potential for Excellence and the status of autonomous college. Many innovative courses have been started in the college. The college leads in sports activities as well as cultural activities. The NCC and NSS wings of the college play a very important role in giving new directions to the development of the college. The college has also taken the initiative of starting YouTube channel that has more than 8000 subscribers. The college is also gifted with Bhai Mardana Music Studio and Kirat Club. The students are taught to remain connected with their tradition and culture along with intellectual competence. In the end of the function mementos were presented to Bibi Jagir Kaur , Professor Kirpal Singh Badungar, Dr. Tender Kaur Dhaliwal, Bibi Kuldeep Kaur Tohra, executive members and other eminent personalities.
