Short Term Course “Environmental Issues and Disaster Management” concludes at UGC- MMTTC, Punjabi University

The UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre at Punjabi University, Patiala, is delighted to announce the successful completion of the Short Term Course of “Environmental Issues and Disaster Management” This intensive 6-day programme was conducted online from September 24 to October 1, 2024, in accordance with the instructions of UGC-MHRD. Participants from various states and esteemed universities across India attended the programme.

The valedictory session commenced with the university Dhuni, followed by a warm welcome note by Prof. (Dr) Raman Maini, Director,MMTTC, Punjabi University, Patiala. Prof Maini Welcome the chief guest of the day , Shine Kamal District Information Officer Punjab Government.  He expressed his heartfelt thanks to the  university administration for their  continuous support to all the programmes organised by UGC – HRDC, Punjabi University Patiala. He thanked  coordinator of the Program Dr Onkar Singh,Associate Professor, Department of Zoology and Environment sciences for working so hard for the successful completion of the course.

The session continued with an inspiring address by the chief guest,  Shine Kamal District Information Officer Punjab Government. She emphasized that Effective disaster management involves preparedness, early warning systems, and sustainable practices to reduce environmental degradation. Kamal said by integrating eco-friendly practices and restoring natural habitats, disaster risks can be reduced, promoting resilience in communities and ensuring long-term environmental health.

Dr Onkar Singh congratulated all the participants on successful completion of the course and proposed vote of thanks.
