The UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre at Punjabi University, Patiala, proudly celebrates the successful conclusion of the Short-Term Programme on “Professional Development for NAAC and IQAC Coordinators (On-line)”. This one week (Online) Short Term Programme held from Aug 05 to Aug12, 2025, was organized in alignment with UGC-MHRD guidelines. Educators and professionals from diverse states and prestigious universities across India participated in this enriching course, which focused on equipping participants with advanced knowledge and skills.

The valedictory session commenced with the traditional PunjabiUniversity Dhuni, followed by a warm welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Raman Maini, Director of MMTTC and Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Maini welcomed the chief guest of the day,Prof. (Dr.)Jagdeep Singh, Vice-Chancellor,Punjabi University, Patiala; Guest of Honour Dr Dharamveer Sharma Director IQAC Punjabi University Patiala,Course Coordinatorsof theShort-Term Programme,Dr. Rakesh Kumar,Professor, Department of Mathematics, Punjabi University, Patiala; and all the Participants.He expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala for his continuous support to all the courses organised by UGC-MMTTC, Punjabi University Patiala.Dr. Maini saidthis programme has brought together committed and enthusiastic coordinators from various institutions, united by a shared mission — to strengthen the culture of quality, transparency, and accountability in higher education. he emphasized that the Sessions combined theoretical frameworks with practical case studies, enabling participants to translate knowledge into actionable quality enhancement measures.

Dr. Maini congratulated the participants on successfully completing the course and highlighted its role as the Quality is not just an aspiration—it is the very foundation on which institutions build trust, credibility, and relevance.

The presidential remarks by Chief Guest Vice-Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala, Prof. (Dr.) Jagdeep Singh, on the occasion of the completion of these Courses, highlighted that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction to witness the successful culmination of this academic programme organized by MMTTC, Punjabi University, Patiala. The Vice-Chancellor remarked that Quality is not a one-time achievement but a continuous process — NAAC and IQAC coordinators are the custodians of this ongoing journey.Institutions that embed quality in their culture need no external compulsion for excellence; it becomes their natural way of functioning.He emphasized that thisprogramme provided a platform for capacity building, fostering a deeper understanding of NAAC processes, IQAC roles, and the significance of continuous quality improvement in higher education.He congratulated all the faculty members, resource persons, and participants whose dedication and enthusiasm made the course a meaningful and enriching experience. The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and professional development through such initiatives, in alignment with the goals of the National Education Policy. He extended his best wishes to all participants for continued success in their academic and professional pursuits.

The session continued with an inspiring and thought-provoking address by the Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr.) Dharamveer Sharma, Professor, Department of Computer Science, and Director, Internal Quality Assurance (IQAC) Celland Director, Research Centre for Technical Development Of Punjabi Language, Literature and Culture, Punjabi University, Patiala. Prof. Sharma underscored the importance of the program, describing it as an exceptional platform for faculty members from diverse institutions across India to collaborate, share ideas, and learn collectively.Dr. Sharma said that Professional development of NAAC and IQAC coordinators ensures that the vision of quality is translated into measurable, sustainable outcomes. He remarked that “When coordinators lead with integrity, clarity, and innovation, the NAAC grades follow as a byproduct of true quality practices.”He also expressed he appreciation for Dr. Raman Maini, acknowledging his unwavering commitment and hard work in ensuring the program’s success.

Participants shared their feedback, reflecting on the transformative experience of the course, adding a joyful and dynamic conclusion to the event.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Professor, Department of Mathematics, Punjabi University, Patiala being Course Coordinator said that it has been a truly fulfilling experience watching such vibrant minds engage, collaborate, and grow together through this course. Dr. Rakesh emphasized that the knowledge and skills acquired during the program would enable participants to implement innovative teaching techniques. As we come to the close of this enriching course, it gives me great pleasure to reflect on the journey we’ve all shared over the past week. Our sincere gratitude also goes to the organizing team, technical staff, and support personnel, without whom this course wouldn’t have run so smoothly. He also proposed a vote of thanks.

During the closing remarks, Dr Maini extended heartfelt praise and gratitude to the dedicated staff members Dr. Mandeep Singh, Dyal Dutt, Surinder Singh, Kanta Rani, Mahaveer Singh and Surinder Kumar highlighting their exemplary organizational skills and crucial contributions in ensuring that all sessions were conducted seamlessly in an offline format.
