Shun drugs; Share Drug Facts to Save Lives-SSP Patiala

“Punjab government under the visionary & dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has laid many milestones during four years of governance. Under the command of Director General of Police Dinkar Gupta, Punjab Police is able in curbing the Drug peddling in the state” said Senior superintendent of Patiala Dr Sandeep Garg, on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking. 

Senior superintendent of Patiala Dr Sandeep Garg highlighted the achievements, recovery of the Patiala police and curbing the drug peddling in the district, on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking which is celebrated on June 26, every year.

Garg said that, as part of the ongoing war against drugs, where the state Police as well as district police has achieved remarkable results on the enforcement front to break the supply chain of drugs, efforts were on at the same time to prevent the people, especially the youth of the State, from falling prey to the drug menace.

SSP Patiala Sandeep Garg, while giving message of “Say No to Drugs”, appealed to the people to stay from any kind of drugs as addiction to narcotics could cost them their life. He also exhorted the people of the interstate border district of Punjab, to help Patiala Police in its fight against drugs by sharing details on Punjab Police Helpline number ‘181’, if they found anyone smuggling or supplying drugs.

He said ‘Share Drug Facts to Save Lives’ is the theme of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking this year.

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking | 26 June

By resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987, the General Assembly decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
