Sidhu a useless turncoat’ and ‘Political Deadwood’; 457 newly recruited youths given appointment letters-CM

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday continued Mission Rozgar by handing over appointment letters to 457 newly recruited youth in various departments thereby illuminating the lives of more than 40,000 families since formation of government.
The Chief Minister, while addressing the gathering after handing over the appointment letters, said that the state government is making concerted efforts for making the youth an integral part in socio-economic progress of the state. He said that this a fertile land where anything can germinate as people are blessed with an indomitable spirit of hard work, dedication and resilience. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this land has immense potential due to which the state government is making strenuous efforts to make Punjab a frontrunner state in the country.
The Chief Minister said that today 20 Junior draftsman in Water Supply and Sanitation department, 32 employees including Dairy Development officers, clerks, incubator operators and Machine Operators in Animal Husbandry department, six steno-typists in Youth services department, 129 employees including clerk legal, accounts and IT IN Excise and Taxation department, eight steno-typists in Food, Civil Supplies and consumer affairs, one clerk in Information and Public Relations department, 36 employees including clerk, steno-typist and section officer in Finance department, 24 Junior Draftsman in Public Works, 41 clerks in Housing and Urban Development department, 79 steno-typist in Water Resources department, nine employees including staff nurse, clerk and class IV IN Health and Family welfare, 65 employees including Assistant Engineer, Assistant Manager and Clerks, seven employees including Professor, Associate professor and Assistant Professor in Medical Education department and others.
The Chief Minister said that the great Sikh gurus have taught us to fight against tyranny, oppression and injustice and following their footsteps the state government is making every effort to ensure that the recruitment to government jobs is done in a fair and transparent manner. He said that this venue has witnessed a number of such events in which youth have got jobs in various government departments. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this reflects the commitment of the state government to ensure the well being of youth and opening new avenues of employment for them.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for him that more than 40,000 youth have been selected for these posts purely on the basis of merit. He said that this step of the state government is aimed at ensuring reverse migration in the state by checking the brain drain from Punjab by opening new vistas for youth. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is heartening to learn that a large number of youth who were earlier planning to move abroad are now preparing for government jobs through competitive exams.
The Chief Minister exhorted the newly recruited youth to serve the people with missionary zeal as now they have become integral part of the government. Bhagwant Singh Mann hoped that the new recruits will use their pen for helping the needy and underprivileged sections of society. He said that the newly recruited youth should ensure maximum welfare of the public so that every section of society is benefited from it.
Likewise, the Chief Minister said that every inch of this sacred land has the footprint of great Gurus, saints, seers, martyrs and poets. He said that Punjabis are global citizens who have proved their mettle across the globe with their hard work and dedication. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjabis never lag behind in any field and are born to lead due to which they have no limit for progress and prosperity.
The Chief Minister said that the traditional parties are envy of him because he hails from a common family. Bhagwant Mann said that these leaders who believed that they have divine right to rule the state due to which they are not able to digest that a common man is running the state efficiently. He said that these leaders have befooled the people for a long time but now people are not getting swayed by their misleading propaganda.
The Chief Minister said that the leaders of opposition parties are not able to digest that the state government is providing free power to 90% households, more than 1 crore people had taken free medicines from Aam Aadmi Clinics, for the first time a private thermal plant has been purchased by state government at a cost of Rs 1080 crore and others. He said that these leaders cannot tolerate the welfare of the common man due to which they are regularly spitting venom against him. Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon people not to fall prey to these leaders who had lost their relevance as they had been rejected by the people.
The Chief Minister also said that the state government is opening eight hi-tech centres for imparting training to the students for competitive exams. Bhagwant Mann said that these centres will provide quality training to youth for clearing the UPSC exams and sit on coveted positions in state and country. He said that the target of the state government is to ensure that youth sit in high offices and serve the country.
Terming Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu as ‘Useless turncoat’, the Chief Minister said that this political deadwood is a liability for every party in which he goes. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Sidhu is making tall claims now but he had himself ran away from taking the Power department as Minister. He said that these leaders shift their loyalties every hour due to which people have no faith in them.
The Chief Minister exhorted the youth to identify their capabilities and capacities to lead in life adding that as runways at the airports facilitate an Airplane for its smooth take off in the same manner the state government is helping the youth to realize their dreams. He asserted that every effort is being made to give wings to the ideas of youth and no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause. Bhagwant Singh Mann made a fervent appeal to youth to make all out efforts for carving an identity of their own to make a place in society adding that sky’s the limit for them.
