Solar Power Plant at Guru Kashi University
Talwandi Sabo-Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo renowned educational institute in the region is going to adopt Solar Power. As per collaboration with MNRE, a rooftop plant of 400 KW will be installed across 5 roofs at the campus, and will provide 30% of the university’s electricity consumption. The University is a perfect place for installing solar plant as it has good amount of rooftop space with sunshine. The solar plant will generate clean, green, renewable energy that will power the university. Guru Kashi University is going to partially shift from conventional energy use to renewable energy use.
The Vice Chancellor Col Dr B.S. Dhaliwal appreciated this method of electricity generation which is need of the day.
The Managing Director Sukhraj Singh Sidhu said that this is a step towards generating of electricity without polluting atmosphere. Present capacity of 400 KW is likely to be increased in future.
Dr Amit Tuteja Deputy Registrar said, “Adopting rooftop solar energy is both a socially conscious and a financially prudent move for GKU. We are extremely happy to be associated with K. Vision Security Solutions. The plant installed in association with K Vision will be maintained for a period of 20 years.
