Specialist doctors will now be available ‘on-call’ in Haryana’s government hospitals: Arti Singh Rao

The Haryana Government is taking another revolutionary step towards making the state’s health services more robust and accessible. Now, specialist doctors will be available in the state’s government hospitals under the “on-call” system, so that serious patients can get timely treatment. Giving information, Health and Family Welfare Minister Arti Singh Rao said that now, the no-node formula is being implemented for doctors in government hospitals under the PPP (Public Private Partnership) model. With this initiative, specialist medical services will be made available even in rural and remote areas. Specialist doctors will attend patients on-call in hospitals. Specialist doctors will be available for services like anesthesia, surgery and radiology, gynecology and pediatrics. She informed that this service is being made available in the initial phase in five districts: Hisar, Jind, Mewat, Sonipat and Kaithal.
The Health Minister also informed that this is a pilot project, which will later be expanded to the entire state. This scheme will not only provide high quality medical facilities to the patients, but will also reduce the need for referral system at the district level. The aim of the state government is to provide timely, quality and accessible health services to every citizen. This new initiative is a strong and positive effort in that direction.
