Sports extravaganza to commence in Patiala; PSPCL hosting 45th AIESCB Athletics Meet

The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is proud to announce the commencement of the 45th All India Electricity Sports Control Board (AIESCB) Athletics Meet, which will kick off on Friday (October 13) at the National Institute of Sports (NIS) Athletic Track, Patiala. The event will span over two days, concluding on October 14.

The opening ceremony of this prestigious athletic meet will be graced by the presence of Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Sports Minister of Punjab while Harbhajan Singh ETO, Power & PWD Minister of Punjab, will be the Chief Guest on closing ceremony.

Jasbir Singh Sur Singh, Director (Admin) of PSPCL said that under the visionary leadership of Er. Baldev Singh Sran, the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of PSPCL, the organization takes immense pride in hosting this national athletic meet for the power departments of the country. The event will see the participation of teams from various states and Union Territories, including Maharashtra, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Delhi, and BBMB.

The 45th AIESCB Athletics Meet promises an exciting lineup of events, featuring a wide range of athletic discipline.  These include sprint races like the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 4X100m relay, 4X400m relay, and the 110m hurdleField events will also be showcased, with athletes competing in the Triple Jump, High Jump, Long Jump, Discuss Throw, Hammer Throw, Javelin Throw, and Shot Put.

Jasbir Singh Sur Singh expressed his enthusiasm for the event, highlighting Punjab’s well-known hospitality. He extended a warm welcome to all the participants and guests, assuring them of the best arrangements for their stay and well-being.

He said that for the smooth conduct of the events and to ensure the comfort of all participants, various committees have been formed. Accommodation facilities of the highest standards have been arranged for the guests traveling from other states and Union Territories. Additionally, comprehensive medical and first-aid provisions have been made to address any health-related needs during the meet.
