Sr Sec Model School Pbi Uni honor meritorious students
Patiala-Senior Secondary Model School, Punjabi University, Patiala organized a felicitation programme to honour meritorious students of class XII & X Exams (Punjab School Education Board, Mohali).
Dr. B.S. Ghuman, Vice-Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala was the Chief guest on the occasion. S.K. Nirmal Goyal, the Principal of the school, welcomed the chief guest, parents and other guests while reading out the result report. Special honour was given to Harmandeep Kaur of +2 Arts who had bagged 7th rank in Punjab and 1st in the District, scoring 98.22% marks and Lalit Jain a student of Archery who won silver Medal in the South Asian Archery Championship held at Dhaka in Bangladesh in March 2018.
The school students had presented Giddha and Bhangra at Yadwindra Public School Stadium on Republic Day celebration for which the Punjab Government felicitated the school with a cash prize of Rs. 55000/- and same was distributed by the Vice-Chancellor to the participants on this occasion.
In his commandments the Vice-Chancellor guided the students to show foremost reverence to their mothers. He further instructed them to be honest and hardworking. He emphasized to maintain balance between extracurricular activities, sports and academics and restrict use of Internet/mobile etc. so that their health is not affected. Lastly he congratulated the Principal, and staff for achieving 100% success in academics in this classes. The role of parents in achieving the covetous positions by the students is commendable. The entire jubilant staff took part in the program enthusiastically.
