Inclusivity is a cornerstone of the University’s ethos. The University ensures that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality education. Under its “Empowering Students through Scholarships” initiative, scholarships worth crores are awarded annually, and 150 needy girls receive free education each year. With over 70% of the faculty and student body being female, the University sets a benchmark for gender equity in education.

The University is also at the forefront of sustainability and environmental conservation. Its eco-friendly initiatives include rainwater harvesting, water treatment plant and conservation of flora and fauna within the campus. Specialized gardens such as the Botanical Garden, Medicinal/Herbal Garden, Orchards and Nutritional Kitchen Garden not only enhance the campus’s ecological footprint but also serve as educational resources for students and faculty. Compost pits and an extensive green belt further underline the University’s commitment to environmental stewardship, creating a campus that is both beautiful and sustainable.

Beyond academics, SGGSWU offers a vibrant sports culture and extracurricular activities that contribute to holistic development. Baba Fateh Singh Sports Stadium spread over a vast area of twenty acres, includes facilities for cricket, hockey, rugby, kabaddi, and more. Indoor sports facilities, Gymnasium, and Yoga centre are available for the overall development of the University community. The University teams have earned accolades in weightlifting, rugby, and the traditional Sikh martial art of Gatka. Cultural activities, including music and dance performances, art exhibitions, and literary events, foster a sense of community and cultural pride among students and staff.

Career readiness is another area where the University excels. The Career Counselling Cell provides personalized guidance through workshops, mock tests, and mentorship programs. With an average placement rate of 50%, many students secure roles in leading industries or pursue higher education. The University’s incubation center further supports entrepreneurial aspirations, having successfully launched 20 start-ups over the past five years.

In every aspect, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University embodies the principles of Sarbat-da-bhala (welfare of all), inspired by the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. By harmonizing academic rigor with moral and cultural values, the University creates an environment where students are not only educated but also empowered to contribute positively to society.
