Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Hosts 5th Annual Research Meet

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib successfully organised 5th Annual Research Meet on 28 and 29 March 2024. The event, organized by the Research Development Cell of the University, witnessed a significant participation of 300 researchers from various corners of the country. Dr. Sumit Kumar, Co-Convenor of the meet, highlighted the diverse participation across online and offline platform which has showcased the University’s commitment to fostering collaborative research endeavors. He shared that the Research Meet was structured into four sections, each focusing on distinct domains of research, under the coordination of the faculty members.

Section A coordinated by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, garnered maximum participation, covering a wide array of topics in medical, physical, mathematical, chemical, life sciences, agricultural sciences, engineering, and technology. Notably, 129 researchers contributed in the oral and poster presentations. This section served as a hub for ground-breaking research and innovation in science and technology. Section B, led by Dr. Harneet Billing, delved into the realms of social science, education, and information science. With a total of 49 online and offline presentations, researchers presented their findings on contemporary issues concerning economics, education, history, sociology, and physical education. The section provided valuable insights into societal challenges and innovative solutions proposed through interdisciplinary research. Exploring the intricate connections between language and religion, Section C, coordinated by Dr. Hardev Singh, featured 30 online and offline presentations. The section facilitated meaningful dialogue and cross-cultural exchange, promoting mutual respect and understanding. Section D, under the coordination of Dr. Rubeena Bajwa, focused on commerce, management, and legal studies. The presentations offered comprehensive analyses of contemporary challenges and opportunities in these fields, emphasizing the importance of responsible leadership and ethical decision-making.

The subject expert during the online session of various sections of the research meet were Dr. Rahul Badru, Dr. Supreet Bindra, Dr. Monica Airi, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Dr. Nav Shagandeep Kaur, Dr. Balwinder Kaur, and Dr. Supinder Kaur. While in the offline session on the second day, Professor Ramesh Arora, Professor Navdeep Kaur, Professor J.N. Bhatia, Professor Tejbir Singh, Professor Jasbir Kaur Chahal, Professor H. S. Bhatti, Professor Jamshid Ali Khan, Professor B. S. Ghuman, Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, Dr. Sikandar Singh, Professor Paramjit Singh, Dr. Navleen Kaur, and Dr. Kanchan Rani were the subject expert.

Reflecting on the objectives of the Research Meet, Prof. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Research, emphasized the University’s commitment to provide a common platform for young researchers to showcase their work. He highlighted the event’s hybrid format, which allowed for wider participation and collaboration among scholars from diverse backgrounds.

Prof. Pritpal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University, expressed satisfaction with the participation and commended the University’s achievements in the field of research. The valedictory session, graced by Prof. Susheel Kumar Mittal, Vice-Chancellor of Panjab Technical University, as Chief Guest, provided an inspiring conclusion to the event. Prof. Mittal shared insightful thoughts on the future of research and encouraged young researchers to pursue innovation while upholding ethical standards.

Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar, Pro-Chancellor of the University, shared his own experiences as a researcher and inspired young minds to pursue their passion for knowledge and exploration. He emphasized the importance of curiosity, perseverance, and integrity in the pursuit of research excellence and commended the participants for their exemplary research contributions, emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of academic excellence and collaboration within the University community.
