Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Organises Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha Special Lecture

Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU) organized a lecture on “Psychological Issues in Student-Teacher Relationship” under the Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha lecture series. Dr. Harminder Singh from California (USA) joined as the main speaker. Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh presided over the function, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. (Dr.) Sukhwinder Singh Billing joined as the guest of honour and Dean Students’ Welfare Dr. Sikandar Singh graced the occasion.

While presiding over the event, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU) vice chancellor Dr. Prit Pal Singh said that psychological issues are likely to increase in the future, which should be dealt with very seriously. Dr. Sikandar Singh shared his views on the personality of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha and his contributions to Sikhi. He said that the amount of work Bhai Sahib has done for Punjabi and Sikhi is equal to an institution. Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor – Punjabi introduced the keynote speaker to the audience and informed that Dr. Harminder Singh has been associated with the field of teaching and counseling for a long time and he is now contributing in the field of research on psychological and health problems of people in America and India.

Dr. Harminder Singh, explaining the main psychological problems of student-teacher, anxiety, stress, depression and fear, proved that the treatment therapy method is more effective than medicine and said that a positive attitude is essential for a healthy mental health. During the event, Dr. Binder Singh conducted the stage. The talk immensely benefitted the students of Bachelors in Arts.
