Stalemate ends on farmer Shubhkaran’s cremation; ‘Zero FIR’ lodged by Patiala police

In a late night development, Patiala police has lodged a ‘Zero FIR’ at Patran police station against unknown persons in farmer Shubhkaran’s death. The FIR was lodged at the Patran police station in Patiala based on the complaint of his father Charanjeet Singh.
Shubhkaran died of a wound at the back of his neck at the Khanauri border on February 21.
Patran police has lodged FIR against unknown persons under section 302 (prescribes the punishment for murder) , 114 (Whenever any person who if absent would be liable to be punished as an abettor, is present when the act or offence for which he would be punishable in consequence of the abetment is committed, he shall be deemed to have committed such act or offence) IPC.
Subh Karan Singh, 21, a native of Bathinda, died at Khanauri border point on the Punjab-Haryana border amid clashes between Haryana Police and Punjab farmers during their “Delhi Chalo” agitation under the banner of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political).
Farmers’ are protesting, demanding that the post-mortem of the 21-year-old farm protester will not be conducted till the Punjab Police register an FIR against Haryana Police. Punjab chief minister had also asserted that stringent action would be taken against those responsible for Shubh Karan’s death.
Now, as per reports, his postmortem will be done on Thursday , February 29,2023 and his cremation will also be done on the same day.
