Starting of new session-Principal Medical College meets class representatives

To discuss various students’ problems, unwanted entry of outsider elements in the college campus during late night hours, maintaining discipline and ragging issue keeping in view the starting of the new session next month, Principal Government Medical College Patiala held a special meeting with representatives of all the MBBS classes.

Apart from various problems, the student leaders showed special concern on the rising number of stray dogs in the college hostels which have become a source of terror for the hostel inmates urging the authorities for immediate solution. The matter of personal cars being kept in the campus and hostels by the students was also discussed which otherwise have been banned in all major education institutes.

Consensus was made in principal for mandatory possession of identity cards by all students, staff and faculty members to identify outsiders during night hours that often create ruckus in the college campus and threat the students and security guards on duty. It was decided for regular late night checking in the campus by college disciplinary committee members and to strengthen security services during night hours.

Dr Aggarwal assured the students and said all the problems pointed out by the student leaders have already been brought to the notice of the higher authorities and the results will be shortly seen. Boys and Girls Hostel Superintendents including Dr. DS Bhullar, Dr. Rupinder Bakshi and Dr. Seema Goyal also attended the meeting.
