“TECHTONIC ’22” organized by Punjabi University CSE department

Punjabi University has a brilliant placement record as most of the students are placed in reputed public/private sector organizations.

Under the able guidance of vice-chancellor Prof. Arvind, the university is sparing no effort in preparing its students for a bright future. In this direction, an intra-department technical event “TECHTONIC ’22” was organized by Technical Society of Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Punjabi University.

The event comprised a quiz competition, a debugging competition and e-sports. The competitions were based on the popular programming languages and latest trend and pattern followed by the IT industry during recruitment.

The student team of technical society comprises Tanvi Bansal, Sejal Arora, Tanvir Pratap Singh, Tarun Sharma, Mansi Kashyap, Ritika Sharma, Sarabjot Singh, Nikita, Rajeev Goyal, Gurwinder Singh Waraich, Tript Singh Mann and Agambir Singh Bhandohal. Coordinator of technical society Er. Lal Chand reported that around 200 B.Tech. students participated in the technical competitions and displayed excellent programming skills.

President of technical society, Dr. Brahmaleen K. Sidhu said that in addition to gaining knowledge and exposure, students also learn organizational skills and team work through such events.

The head of the department, Prof. Raman Maini said that following the Assessment for Learning approach to teaching is important for B.Tech. students, wherein feedback is created through such competitions and then it is used to improve students’ performance so that they give their best performance in placements.

Dr. Maini congratulated the team of students for a successful conduct of event and encouraged them to conduct such competitions regularly. He said that as the placement season is approaching, such events will help in orienting students for the same and enhance their technical, programming and analytical skills along with the core subject knowledge.

Winners were awarded certificates by Dr. Maini, Prof. Amardeep Singh and Prof. Himanshu Agarwal at a valedictory ceremony held in the department.
