Thapar Institute hosted golden jubilee batch of 1969; revived their college days memories

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala welcomed alumni and friends back to campus during its annual alumni meet for the 50 year batch reunion. Returning alumni will enjoy events that bring together batch mates, celebrate alumni excellence, and provide a nostalgic return to the Institute community. Major events include the Back to classroom, Meet and greet Carnival and a new Alumni Weekend mainstay, the night Bash.
“Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology is the launching pad for more than 255,00 alumni who are doing great things here in Patiala, across the country and around the world,” said Dr Prakash Gopalan, Director, TIET. “Each winter, Alumni Weekend draws many of them back home to reconnect with their fellow batch mates and honour their Thapar lineage. We will greet them with a range of university-wide events including Walk around the campus, Regraduation ceremony.”
This year the Institute hosted the graduating batch of 1969, Alumni settled across the world visited their alma mater on 16th and 17th of November 2019.
The illustrious engineers visited the campus after 50 years to be together and rejoice the Good Old days. Special arrangements had been made for them to stay on campus in the hostels they once were residents off. They also visited many places in the city and especially the batch has organised a prayer session at the Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahib for two days and two nights to seek the almighty’s blessings for Thapar Institute and each other.
Special Tours of the Institute and interaction with faculty, students and the community has been organised.
Institute felt pride in hosting its Alumni and it is a matter of Pride to have them visit each year with the same gusto.
