Thapar Institute Patiala chosen as the inaugural recipient for the ‘100 5G Use Case Labs’ initiative by DoT, GoI

This 5G Use Case Lab at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), Patiala will function as a central hub for exploring, developing, and innovating in the field of 5G technology. It will offer an enabling environment for the execution of experiments, trials, and the assessment of 5G applications, positioning India as a worldwide leader in mobile communications innovation.

According to an official announcement, the Indian Government’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is providing considerable funding for this distinguished endeavour under the “100 5G Use Case Labs” scheme.

Prime Minister awarded the 100 5G Use Case Lab to TIET Patiala on 27^th October during inaugural function of 7^th Indian Mobile Congress 2023.

The hard work of Prof. Rajesh Khanna, Dr.Hem Dutt Joshi, Dr.  Surbhi Sharma, Dr.  Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Dr.  Amit Mishra and Dr.  Jaswinder Kaur, has led to this significant achievement.

The Institute is very pleased with the group’s teamwork and dedication to improving the country’s technological capabilities in the area of 5G telecommunications.
