A two-day Science Fair event is organizing at Thapar Polytechnic College, Patiala on 30-31 January, 2020 aimed at encouraging the brains of young scientists towards the road of innovation. The students prepared and displayed a total of 120 exhibits showcasing their creativity and learnt talent via working models and excogitation.

A total of 800 students from 25 schools along with their teachers visited, learnt and understood different concepts enthusiastically. They also took part in various activities and won accolades and prizes.

The event was inaugurated by the honourable chief guest Dr. Prakash Gopalan (Director TIET cum Chairman Managing Committee, TPC). Dr. R.S Kaler (Dean of Faculty Affairs, TIET cum Vice Chairman, Managing Committee TPC) , Dr. Maneek Kumar (Dean Students Affair), Dr. S.S. Bhatia (Dean Academic Affairs, TIET) Dr. Gurbinder Singh (Registrar ,TIET), Dr. Prem Pal Bansal (Head, CED, TIET) and  Lakhbir Singh (Deputy Director Sports,  TIET) also graced the occasion. They apprised the diligent efforts of all the students who tirelessly worked on their extraordinary projects.

On this occasion Dr. Prakash Gopalan announced direct admission to students of TPC who pass diploma with 60% or more marks in Second year of their respective branch at TIET, Patiala on the basis of merit without any entrance test.

“Thapar Polytechnic students will get direct entry into second year at TIET-Director is a good initiative” said the principal Dr. Ankush Kansal . He further said that “these kinds of events not only imbibe scientific mind set in youth but also facilitate them to undertake and excel in their lives ahead.”

College’s annual Magazine ‘Spectrum’ was released on this day.

Science Fair ‘2020’ Convener Dr Ritu Jindal also admires the staff and students for their untiring efforts and persistent attitude. She also acknowledged the visiting school students and their staff.
