Amongst India’s leading and renowned technical universities, Thapar University (TU) , Patiala has listed among the top 5 private universities in India by QS BRICS rankings in India. TU has ranked high, at number 3 among private universities, with BITS Pilani leading this ranking. It is at the 137th position among 300 institutions from 5 countries in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) region.
Dr Prakash Gopalan, Director of the university, said the rankings were compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds, an Education Marketing Company, using eight different indicators including academic reputation, employer reputation, the proportion of staff with a PhD, faculty/student ratio, research publications and citation rates and proportion of international faculty and students.
Gopalan said the ranking provides insights into the relative strengths and weaknesses of leading institutions.
“Our University commits to enhance the quality of education and believes in providing the best educational experience by unprecedented investment in our facilities and exciting new initiatives,” he said
Gopalan said that the relationships that TU has forged in the last four years have immensely benefited the university leading to continuous up gradation in infrastructure, best practices and processes and simultaneous updating of knowledge of faculty, which helps Thapar University for getting 3 rank in QS BRICS rankings.
