This year govt schools in Punjab registered 13 percent more students-Singla

School education and public works minister Punjab Vijay Inder Singla, on Friday, said that the Punjab government is upgrading government schools into Smart Schools to provide quality education to the children. He was in Sangrur to inaugurate smart schools at village Kalajharh and Phagguwala of the district. The cabinet minister also laid foundation of several development works at village Rajpura, Masani, Phagguwala and Roopaherhi villages, in Sangrur district. He also visited court complex today to attend a function organised by local bar association and assured renovation of bar room.
Vijay Inder Singla said that Government Elementary Smart School Kalajharh has been upgraded with the cost of Rs. 67 lakh while around 54 lakh Rs. have been spent on Government Senior Secondary School Phagguwala. He added that these schools will now be equipped with modern teaching techniques including smart classrooms, educational parks, illustrated wall paintings, CCTV cameras etc. He said that with the efforts of the Captain Amarinder Singh led state government, the education department has succeeded to increase the registration of students upto 13 percent as compared to last academic session. Singla said that the government schools were also outshining private schools in results of board classes.

Singla said that there will be no dearth of funds for the development works required in Sangrur and he would also ensure the quality of the projects being done by various government departments or by contractors. He added that the residents of villages, where development works have been done, were fully satisfied with the quality of work done by government agencies. Singla said within his 5 year tenure as MLA, Sangrur will be enlisted among best constituencies of Punjab.
