Thousands of devotees throng Anandpur Sahib as second phase of Hola Mohalla begins

Thousands of devotees thronged various historic gurudwaras of Anandpur Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib including Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib to pay their obeisance on first day of the second and main phase of historic Hola Mohalla festival that began on Thursday.

The first phase of the celebrations at Kiratpur Sahib have concluded on Wednesday .Devotees are arriving in the town from all parts of the state and country and abroad to participate in the celebrations.

The second phase of Hola Mohalla began with the ‘ardas’ performed by Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh.The Akhand path also began to Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib,bhog of which would be held on March 19 ..Religious diwans have also begun at various places in the town.

The devotees are also taking a holy dip in the Sarovar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib. Nagar Kirtans were also taken out to Anandpur Sahib from various parts .

A large number of Langars (Community kitchens) have also been organised in Anandpur Sahib and on all the roads leading to the town by various organisations and villagers.

No political party except Shiromani Akali Dal(Amritsar) and Saddbhawna Dal would hold their conferences on Friday.

Meanwhile ,Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha UK has started renovation of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib,Anandpur Sahib SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami was also present on the occasion.

Rupnagar deputy commissioner Sonali Giri said that elaborate arrangements had been made by the Rupnagar district administration  for the facility of devotees during Hola  Mohalla festival at Anandpur Sahib. Senior Superintendent of Police Vivek S.Soni said that elaborate security arrangements had been made for maintaining law and order during the festival.
