Three-day lecture series on the topic ‘Era of Multidisciplinary Research’ concludes at Punjabi University

Punjabi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arvind said that the process of connecting students with eminent scientists will continue.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the three-day lecture workshop on ’21st Century: An Era of Multidisciplinary Research’ at the Science Auditorium of Punjabi University today, Prof. Arvind said that contacting students with eminent scientists is the need of the hour, so this process will continue more vigorously. He said that the university has started this lecture series in the past so that the students can take guidance from these scientists in the field of education and research as well as bring out the hidden talent within them. He said that meeting with renowned scientists in various fields creates enthusiasm among the students and inspires them to do good work. He said that this is the time for multidisciplinary research with which better results can be obtained. Due to this, the university is paying special attention to it.
This three-day workshop was organized by the Department of Physics, Punjabi University in collaboration with National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad, Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore and Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi.
Scientists from all over the country gave their lectures in different sessions of three-day lecture workshop. Former Director General of C.S.I.R.New Delhi Dr. Girish Sahni, Prof. A.K. Ganguly of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Brihampur (Orissa) and former dean of Panjab University Chandigarh Prof. K. K. Bhasingave lecture in first day of the workshop. Prof. N. G. Prasad of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali and Prof. P. Guptsarma interacted with the students on the second day of the workshop. On the third day Prof. Venu Gopal Achanta from N.P.L New Delhi and Prof. B.R. Mehta from J.I.I.T. Noida expressed their views.
Three-day lecture series on the topic ‘Era of Multidisciplinary Research’ concludes at Punjabi University. Head of Physics Department Dr. Anup Thakar informed that 150 students have participated in this workshop. Meanwhile, Dean of five-year integrated courses Prof. Sanjeev Puri, Prof. Karamjit Singh Dhaliwal and others played an important role during the workshop.
