To control Power theft PSPCL’s enforcement wing working diligently; imposes Rs 32 lacs fine to 71 power thieves

The campaign launched by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) against the menace of theft of electricity in Punjab is achieving great success with good results. A spokesman of PSPCL disclosed that PSPCL has imposed a fine for rupees 31.81 lakh on 71 consumers for theft of electricity and other violations for unauthorised use of electricity.
PSPCL enforcement teams of Amritsar, Bathinda,Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala circles along with Police officials have checked the premises of 683 consumers of different areas of the circles on June 23,2023
Spokesman said that during joint raids by the different enforcement teams has checked the premises of 247 consumers under Suburban Samrala and Khamano areas under Patiala circle. Teams have checked the premises of 158 consumers of Vishal Nagar and Guru Ramdas Nagar (City Patti) under Amritsar circle. Spokesman also said that enforcement teams have also checked the premises of 121 consumers falling under areas of Rama Mandi, Khuhla Sarver, Talwandi Bhai, Talwandi Sabo and Zira under Bathinda circle and packed 10 meters for investigation.
Spokesman further added that enforcement teams have checked the premises of 64 consumers of city Ahmedgarh and suburban Ahmedgarh under Ludhiana circle.

Punjab State Power Corporation limited has appealed to all its esteemed consumers to help PSPCL in controlling the menace of theft of electricity from the state. Spokesman said that the consumers/citizens can contribute to the campaign against theft of electricity by providing true information about theft of electricity on Whatsapp no 96461-75770. PSPCL assured its consumers/citizens that their identity will not be disclosed.
