Today double digit Covid cases reported in Patiala

Out of 1112 covid reports received in the district today, Ten cases were found to be covid positive. All of them belong to Patiala city. As a result, the number of covid positive cases in the district has increased to 49055 and the number of patients recovering from covid has increased to 47647. The total number of deaths is 1363.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sodhi said that over the last 15 days, the number of covid cases in the district has been steadily increasing and at present the number of active cases in the district is 45. Therefore, he said that the time has come for people to take Covid precautions like wearing masks, maintaining social distance from each other, washing their hands frequently with soap and water etc.
District Epidemiologist Dr. Sumit Singh said that 2477 foreign tourists have visited Patiala district. Out of these 356 passengers from high risk countries, 197 Covid tests have been conducted after completion of 8 days. Of these, only two covid positives have been found so far.
