In a joint press statement issued on 29/07/22 PSEB Engineers’ Association, JEs Council, Joint Forum, Officers Accounts Association, IT Officers Association, (AM/HR) PSPCL, HR Manager’s Association representative bodies of all cadres of engineers, officers and officials of PSPCL and PSTCL expressed their resentment against the deliberate attempts by Finance Department Government of Punjab and Management in sabotaging the already implemented pay scales.
It was informed that after finalisation of 6th pay commission of Punjab Government, PSPCL constituted the Wage Formulation Committee, which included representatives from the Finance Department Government of Punjab, to study and finalise the new scales for PSPCL/ PSTCL employees. On the recommendations and concurrence of representative of the Finance Department Punjab Government who were part of WFC, financial circulars have been issued by the management and new scales have been implemented partially. The decisions regarding various allowances, TBPS are still pending. Now on the insistence of the Finance Department of Punjab Government, PSPCL management is planning to refer the already implemented pay scales to finance department (FD), which clearly indicates that FD is planning to sabotage the new pay scales of power employees.

Devinder Singh General Secretary JEs Council, Kuldeep Khanna President, Karamchand Bhardwaj General Secretary, Baldev Singh Mandali, Harpal Singh, Avtar Singh Kainth, Jagjeet Singh GHTP, Kaur Singh Sohi, Ravel Singh Sahaipur ,Harjinder Singh Dudhala, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Jagjeet Singh Kanda, Jagdeep Singh Sehgal, Sukhwinder Singh Chahal, Sukhwinder Singh Dumna of PSEB Employees Joint Forum, Sukhpreet Singh, President PSEB AA&ASA, Shrikant Sharma President Officers Accounts Association, Vinay Mahajan General Secretary Officers Accounts Association, Er. Simardeep Singh President PSPCL/ PSTCL IT Officers’ Association, Reetinder Singh Galvatti (AM/HR) President PSPCL HR Manager’s Association, all representative bodies of PSPCL and PSTCL employees, stated that if any such attempt is made to sabotage the already implemented pay scales and the decisions regarding allowances, arrears and TBPS is not finalised as per these pay scales, all associations/ unions representing various sections of employees will start joint protest immediately.
The leaders appealed to the CM Punjab to intervene and instruct the Finance Department Punjab Government and PSPCL/ PSTCL management to not make any attempts to sabotage the pay scales and to implement pending allowances and TBPS immediately, so that industrial peace may not be disturbed. Any violation of tripartite agreement either by the power management or the finance department will not be tolerated.

The leaders appealed to the Government to issue strict instructions to the finance department for timely payment of subsidy bill to PSPCL, so that financial survival of the state power sector can be ensured.
