Trauma center will be established at Rajindra Hospital to save accident victims during their Golden Hours-CM

Accorded a much needed respite to the people of the state, especially the people of Malwa, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today inaugurated an emergency facility equipped with ultra modern facilities at Rajindra Hospital here, which will ensure emergency services to the people during golden hour.
After inaugurating the upgraded emergency services, the Chief Minister said that the people of Malwa come to Rajindra Hospital for treatment in large numbers and even patients from Ganganagar came here for treatment, that’s why the state government has decided to build this hospital. Strenuous efforts are being made to further strengthen the infrastructure in this hospital.
In order to provide immediate health care facilities to the accident victims during their Golden Hours, the Chief Minister said that a trauma center will also be established at Rajindra Hospital at a cost of Rs 68.74 crore, which will further add great convenience to the people. He said that currently the patients of accident cases have to refer to PGI for treatment. He said that establishing a trauma center will save precious lives apart from reducing the burden of PGI.
The Chief Minister informed that the bed capacity in the emergency ward has been enhanced from 50 to 100 beds, which will put the full stop on delay in ensuring timely emergency health services to the people. He said that the necessary tests for the patients would also be conducted in emergency, which will further reduce the time of starting the treatment. The Chief Minister said that 40 new employees have also been recruited specially for emergency, who will deputed only in the emergency ward. Bhagwant Mann informed that more modern facilities have been provided in the emergency ward of Rajendra Hospital, including 17 beds for advanced ICU, four operation theaters for emergencies connected with operation theater, 10 new beds for surgical HDU coupled with other facilities comprising waiting area for 50 people and modern medical equipment.
Highlighting the responsibility of the government to keep Punjabis healthy, the Chief Minister further said that efforts are being made to equip the government hospitals with modern facilities. He said that recruitment process has been started on large-scale to fill the vacant posts in the health department. He said that the sole purpose of this step is to ensure the best healthcare services to the people of the state. Bhagwant Mann said that more than 500 Aam Aadmi clinics are providing free health and diagnostic services to the people so far and more clinics are also being opened in near future. The Chief Minister said that sanitation will also be taken into care in health institutions.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister reviewed the health services to know the ground realities about the hospital’s working. He also inquired about the facilities in detail by thorough & active consultation with doctors and para-medical staff. Bhagwant Mann further said that besides equipping the existing government hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities & techniques, the state government has also accorded top priority to set up new hospitals.

Meanwhile the Chief Minister also announced various projects worth Rs. 196.81 crore for Rajindra Medical College and Hospital included accommodation for doctors, sports hall, and separate ward for prisoners and other projects. Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
