TSPL braces up to combat second wave of pandemic

As the Nation is struggling to contain the second wave of pandemic with rapid surge in Covid positive cases on day-to-day basis, the need of the hour is to ramp up safety measures at workplace and beyond boundaries. Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), Punjab’s largest Thermal Power Plant is committed to strict adherence to Covid guidelines issued by central and state government and has initiated vaccination drive for entire workforce ensuring safe working environment.
TSPLis mindful of its responsibilities at this critical hour of need. TSPL has undertaken extensive measures within and in peripheral villages to prevent the spread of pandemic.
Several steps have been taken to ensure a robust safety mechanism within the premises for keeping the virus at bay. TSPL is making all efforts to be a covid compliant workplace and in that endeavor, necessary steps such as temperature screening at the entrance; UV sterilization of bags; social distancing in the plant boundaries at all times; adherence to requisite PPEs and regular check-up is being done at all times.
TSPL is also conducting sanitization drive in the periphery, supporting the police administration with masks and ensuring personnel on covid duty with essential services. Awareness through online sessions with medical practitioner are being organized for communities at large to apprise them of benefits of vaccination and encouraging them to take the shot.
The standard protocols of maintaining physical distance at workstation & canteen inter alia other basic hygiene practices such as handwashing and sanitization were in vogue since the onslaught of pandemic. Quickly adapting to the changing paradigm of business needs, all meetings, deliberations, discussions and trainings are being conducted online ensuring smooth business operations and continuity.
Speaking on the Covid prevention measures undertaken by the plant, Vikas Sharma, CEO and WTD,TSPL said,” In wake of the pandemic, we have not only braced up our safety measures but have also ensured vaccination for entire plant workforce to shield them from the onslaught of virus. We are fully committed to safety and wellbeing of all our employees and communities in the periphery, massive sanitization drive and online awareness session is being conducted in the villagesto contain the spread”

Such interactive awareness sessions are the need of the hour to eliminate doubts in the minds of community and encouraging them to register for covid vaccination.”
