TSPL organized Mega Awareness Camp against Stubble Burning

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), the largest thermal power generation plant in Punjab, has launched an active campaign against stubble burning, demonstrating its commitment to environmental protection and public health. As part of this ongoing initiative, TSPL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, in collaboration with its partner NGO Nabha Foundation organized a mega awareness camp for local farmers in Makha village, Mansa.

Pankaj Sharma, Chief Operating Officer of TSPL, was a distinguished guest at the event, reflecting the company’s commitment to supporting the agricultural community and promoting environmentally responsible practices. Also present was Dr. Harvinder Singh Sandhu, Chief Agriculture Officer of Mansa District, who conveyed messages to the farmers regarding the importance of not burning stubble.

In his address, TSPL COO  Pankaj Sharma emphasized the significance of environmental sustainability and organic farming solutions. He stated, “By adopting sustainable agricultural practices and taking steps toward organic farming, we can not only improve the health of our crops but also enhance the well-being of our farmers and communities. This is a crucial step towards a greener future for everyone.

During the event, farmers who have already adopted alternative sustainable methods and refrained from burning stubble in previous years were honoured, aiming to inspire other farmers in the community. The initiative seeks to protect over 20,000 acres of agricultural land in the region from fire incidents related to stubble waste.

Following this,  Pankaj Sharma, along with other guests, flagged off a rally to strengthen the awareness campaign.
