TSPL Wins Apex CSR Excellence Award for Agriculture Development

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) was awarded Apex India CSR Excellence Award in gold categoryfor outstanding achievement in Agriculture Development.
TSPLNavi Disha project implemented by The Nabha Foundation aims at promotion of sustainable agriculturepractices with a strong membership base of over 1600 farmers from 26 villages in the vicinity helping them reduce input cost and improve farm produce. Setting up of farmers resource center with latest equipment and agriculture related information along with organizing several trainings and workshops on integrated Pest management and on optimized use of chemical fertilizers are being conducted for the farmers and concerted actions have resulted in considerable savings on input cost.
Expressing his gratitude on receiving the accolade Vikas Sharma, CEO and WTD said, “We owe this recognition to all the farmers who have put to practice the knowledge and wisdom gained during the training and awareness sessions. I am elated to note that the Farmers Resource Centre is helping majority of farmers with necessary agriculture equipment and updated information on agriculture practices. We stay committed to our mission to give back to the community and shall continue to support farmers in all possible ways to help them increase their produce and profitability.”

Praising the TSPL Navi Disha initiative, Ram Singh, a farmer from Jherianwala village said,“Navi Disha project has helped me save more than 2 lakhs by considerably reducing chemical spray on my field.With the guidance from the project team I also started practicingchemical free farming in 2 acres of land. The team encouraged me to venture into crop diversification, intercropping, bed plantation etc. which has immensely helped me save on input costs.I am thankfulfor this wonderful initiative. These interventions are hugely beneficial for the entire farmer community.”
