TSPL Wins India CSR Award for Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture Practices

TSPL was announced winner for outstanding achievement in promotion of sustainable agriculture in an award ceremony organized by India CSR Network in a felicitation ceremony held in Bangalore.
Punjab economy is an agrarian economy with a major share of agriculture & allied activities in the country. Over the years this agrarian economy of Punjab has transformed subsistence farming to commercial farming. TSPL’s CSR project- Navi Disha project implemented by The Nabha Foundation aims at promotion of sustainable agriculture practices reaches out to over 1400 farmers from 26 villages in the vicinity helping them reduce input cost and improve farm produce. Setting up of farmers resource center with latest equipment and agriculture related information along with organizing several trainings and workshops on integrated Pest management and on optimized use of chemical fertilizers are being conducted for the farmers and concerted actions have resulted in increased saving on Rabi crops by 17% .
Expressing his gratitude on receiving the accolade Vikas Sharma, CEO and WTD said, “We owe this recognition to all the farmers who have put to practice the knowledge and wisdom gained during the training sessions. We stay committed to our mission to give back to the community and shall continue to support farmers in all possible ways to help them increase their produce and profitability.”

The team encouraged me to venture into new agriculture technologies and their constant support by knowledge sharing helped me save on input cost. I am thankful to TSPL for this wonderful initiative. These interventions have helped the farmer community immensely.”
