Turncoat leader from Nabha Ramesh Singla joins AAP

Former Punjab Congress Youth president, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary and former MLA from Nabha, Ramesh Singla, today joined the Aam admi Party (AAP), at New Delhi. Sangrur member parliament Bhagwant Mann, Harpal singh Cheema, leader of opposition of Punjab Legislative Assembly, along with other Punjab AAP leaders were also present on the occasion.
Ramesh Singla was made the Punjab Youth Congress president in 1993 and General secretary of the Congress in 1994 was known for his very close relations with the former minister, MP Samsher Singh Dullo, at that time. Singla also remained Nabha Municipal Committee president.
Singla, remained general secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, had represented Nabha Vidhan Sabha constituency during 1992-1997 as MLA, turned rebel after the party denied him ticket in 2002, following which his relationship with the party was more of love and hate.He contested Nabha assembly elections on Sharad Pawar led Rashtravadi Congress party, when denied ticket to contest from Nabha, that he bagged in 1992.
He even tried to come closer to Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, former chief minister of Punjab, by organizing a function of Parja Mandal movement anniversary , at Nabha. Rajinder kaur Bhattal’s father hira Singh Bhattal led the Parja Mandal movement in Punjab against the princely states,during British rule.
In December 2014, Ramesh Singla joined Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the presence of Sukhbir Singh Badal at Chandigarh.But again in December 2016, Ramesh Singla rejoined Congress, his mother party.
